Caregiver Activates CareGuardAI

The family caregiver opens the CareGuardAI app or web portal and initiates a respite session. They provide a brief status update on the patient's current condition, medications, and any specific needs or concerns.

Sessions can be scheduled in advance or activated on-demand — giving caregivers flexibility for planned errands or unexpected personal needs.

Trained Staff Connect Immediately

Within minutes, a trained care companion — supervised by a licensed RN — establishes a live video connection with the patient. The staff member introduces themselves warmly and begins the engagement protocol.

All staff are certified in dementia care, memory care communication techniques, and crisis de-escalation. Every session is supervised in real time by a registered nurse.

AI Monitors Patient Continuously

CareGuardAI's artificial intelligence continuously analyzes the video feed for behavioral changes, signs of distress, falls, or medical emergencies — augmenting the human staff's observation with machine precision.

Our AI is trained on thousands of hours of clinical data specific to Alzheimer's, Dementia, and palliative care patients, enabling it to detect subtle changes that might be missed.

Engagement & Companionship

Staff engage patients through meaningful conversation, reminiscence therapy, cognitive word games, and storytelling — activities clinically proven to reduce agitation and improve mood in memory care patients.

Each session is personalized based on the patient's history, preferences, and cognitive level — ensuring engagement is appropriate, comfortable, and enjoyable.

Music & Memory Therapy

Our platform integrates personalized music therapy — playing songs from the patient's era and personal history. Music has been clinically shown to reduce agitation, improve mood, and trigger positive memories in Alzheimer's patients.

Caregivers can pre-load a patient's favorite songs and artists into the system, ensuring each session includes familiar, comforting music.

Emergency Response Protocol

If our AI or supervising RN detects any sign of a medical emergency — a fall, cardiac event, severe agitation, or unresponsiveness — we immediately contact 911 and dispatch emergency services to the patient's home.

The caregiver is simultaneously notified via SMS and app alert. Our staff remain on the call with the patient until emergency services arrive.

Caregiver Returns Refreshed

When the caregiver returns, they receive a full session summary — including patient mood, activities completed, any observations, and a clinical note from the supervising RN. They return informed and reassured.

Session summaries are stored in the patient's care record and can be shared with the patient's primary care physician or specialist.

Clinical Oversight

Behind every CareGuardAI session is a sophisticated monitoring center staffed by trained care companions and supervised by licensed RNs. Our clinical team monitors multiple patients simultaneously, with AI flagging any anomalies for immediate human review.

Supervising physicians are on-call at all times, available for clinical consultation and emergency authorization. This three-tier model — AI, RN, MD — ensures that no patient is ever without appropriate medical oversight.
